Each year, a portion of the credit union’s net earnings supports a variety of education-affiliated programs and schools in Washington State. Givebacks benefit thousands of students in hundreds of schools from pre-K through higher education. In 2018, Inspirus and our members gave $651,619 to Washington’s education community.
in coats & winter clothes for kids
In addition to purchases for our Coats for Kids drive, Inspirus team members donated hundreds of coats to students in need last winter. More than 6,000 warm winter clothing items were donated, benefiting more than 1,000 students in five school districts.
Inspirus team members come together throughout the year to volunteer their time at local schools, community events, and education programs all across Washington State in support of students.
lbs. of food
Across Washington, 1 in 5 kids lives in a household that can’t afford to put food on the table. Without access to food, these kids struggle to focus in school. We work with many different organizations to help fight hunger amongst students.
Worth of backpacks and school supplies
More than 1,500 students across Washington State attended our backpack events in Seattle and Spokane! They used our pop-up ATMs and “shopped” with play money for their back-to-school supplies to fill their new backpacks and help them learn to budget.
in education grants
Team members from all Inspirus locations participated in surprising teachers with education grants for their classrooms during our Big Give Campaign in October. One hundred and eleven teachers received grants from Inspirus Credit Union impacting more than 12,000 students. Through about 15 #FundFriday events, we were able to give back to 35 school districts.
