Hunger Action Month

Hunger Action Month.

Health Solve Hunger One Meal at a Time

Hunger Action Month raises awareness about food insecurity and mobilizes the public to take action. Join Inspirus Credit Union and Food Lifeline by donating time, money, and non-perishable food items during the month of September.

Learn About Food Insecurity

  • Food Lifeline typically serves 700,000 people across Western Washington each year. Because of pandemic-related economic hardship, the number of food-insecure people in the region has increased to 1.5 million and could reach more than 2 million before the crisis subsides.
  • African American and Latino households experience hunger at higher rates than white, non-Hispanic households.
  • Children are more likely to face food insecurity than any other group in the United States.
  • Food Lifeline partners with 300 food banks, shelters, and meal programs in Western Washington providing the equivalent of 134,000 meals every single day.
  • Every $1 donated to Food Lifeline provides food for five meals.
