Inspirus Savings: General

How is the Certificate of Deposit early withdrawal penalty calculated?

The amount of the early withdrawal penalty is based on the amount withdrawn and the term of your account. The penalty schedule is as follows:

  • Terms under 12 Months: 90 days interest on amount withdrawn
  • 12 Months to Terms under 35 Months: 180 days interest on amount withdrawn
  • 35 Months to Terms under 48 Months: 365 days interest on amount withdrawn
  • 48 Months and Up: 540 days interest on amount withdrawn

The penalty is calculated as a forfeiture of part of the interest that has been or would be earned on the account. It applies whether or not the interest has been earned.

How do I set up my savings goals?

Log into Digital Banking and select the SAVINGS GOALS Widget. For detailed instructions setting up savings goals, select the Help button on the top right corner of the screen.

I noticed there is $5 on hold in my savings account. Why is that?

In order to maintain membership with the credit union, a savings account with a minimum balance of $5 is required. This is your "share" in the credit union. This amount will remain on hold in your primary savings account for the duration of your membership with the credit union.

How do I make a deposit to my account?

Inspirus Credit Union offers several ways to deposit checks or cash into your account, starting with our own branches. Our branches are located in:

You can also deposit at a Shared Branch participating credit union near you. They can accept cash and checks. Your ATM or Debit card can be used at Co-op Network ATMs to deposit cash or checks as well. Use our ATM & Branch Locator on our website and search by your city or zip to find the nearest Shared branch or ATM that takes deposits. You will find the address of that location, hours of operation, and phone numbers of those branches. Co-op ATM Network ATMs are free of charge. Terminals located in many 7-11 stores are also surcharge free.

We also offer Mobile Deposit using our Mobile App for Android and Apple Smartphones for checks less than $3500.00. This service allows you to take a picture of a check you have for deposit and post it directly to your account.

Last but not least we offer our golden envelopes to mail in checks for deposit. Call us at 1-888-628-4010 for a packet of envelopes to be sent out to you free of charge.
